The jet pack is the quintessential dream vehicle for personal conveyance. Compact, maneuverable, and speedy, it represents not only the freedom of mobility (there are no roads in the sky!), but also the unrestrained flight that makes birds so fascinating. Unfortunately, it’s also completely impractical from a technical standpoint.
But building a jetpack costume is still bringing your Halloween “A” game. And with this project you get the added benefit of a convenient candy-storage system to boot. Two soda bottles make up the engines/candy storage, with a cardboard tube for spacers, and cut-up colored paper for simulated rocket blasts. A candy-fueled jetpack may be the most practical jetpack of all.
